Bristol City striker Benik Afobe has announced the death of his daughter Amora following a severe infection. The 26-year-old DR Congo international shared the news on Sunday in a statement posted by Henry Winter for The Times newspaper.

According to the former Wolves striker, his daughter died of a severe infection on Friday, despite efforts made to save her life. Also, in a statement on Sunday, Afobe confirmed the death of their 2-year-old daughter, Amora.


Afobe, who is currently on loan from Stoke City, has scored three goals in five games for Bristol this season. Sadly, he then suffered a knee injury in September which has since kept him out of action. Both his current and former teams and teammates have reacted to the news of his daughter's death.
