Cardi B and her two co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges filed against them in regards to a Queens bar fight in August, 2018. Finally, after much speculation, Cardi B pleads not guilty.

Cardi B, born Belcalis Almanzar, was only charged with misdemeanors at first. Later, the rapper was indicted on two felony counts of attempted assault, after refusing a plea deal. Now the indictment, which also involves co-defendants Tawana “RemyRojaLaPerla” Jackson-Morel, 36, and Jeffrey “AstonMartinChuck” Bush, 34, includes 14 total charges, including misdemeanors for reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy and harassment. If convicted, they face up to four years in prison.

Attorney John. M Ryan of the Queens District Attorney’s Office in his statement said, “The defendants are accused of premeditated attacks. The attacks were on two women working at a club in Queens last summer. The defendants also allegedly slammed one woman's head into the bar. We won't tolerate this kind of violence in our community. The defendants will face the consequences of their actions."

The bartenders at the center of the assault, Jade and Baddie G claim that they sustained injuries during the assault that happened at the strip club. They have accused Cardi B of ordering the assault on them. Based on newly discovered information (which the prosecution did not specify), they have decided to take the case to the grand jury.

A Little Bio on Cardi B

Cardi B released the new music video for her song “Press” a day after her court appearance. In the audacious video, she's in front of camera and supporters, proclaiming her innocence, while she enters the court house. She has a confrontation with the prosecutor in the court house, which ends in a murder scene. The video ends with her in an orange jumpsuit, in a cell, as dead bodies keep piling beside her.

Cardi who's no stranger to controversies, made headlines earlier in the year. An old Instagram live post she made when she was a stripper about drugging and stealing from men resurfaced. The post began fresh comments from people. She addressed it in a video, stating that people should not judge her for the wrong she did when she didn’t know better.

Cardi B gave birth to her child, Kulture Kiari Cephus in 2018 for offset, who is a member of the music group Migos.
