There are a lot of factors that could make it tough to sexually satisfy your spouse. But, you can use food to last longer in bed and make them happy.

Sexual satisfaction is very important in any romantic relationship, but sometimes, couples are unable to achieve it. This could be as a result of an issue from either the wife or the husband. It can be the man's inability to last in bed or the woman's low sexual drive. Thankfully, there are natural ways to remedy these problems, like food to last longer in bed.

Speaking to Punch, Mrs Oluwatola Williams, a Lagos-based marriage counsellor and nutritionist, says that lack of sexual satisfaction among couples is one of the reasons for infidelity and divorce. She tells couples that one of the solutions to erectile dysfunction is eating healthy foods. Speaking further, she says many Nigerians don’t eat fruits and they don’t get all the nutrients they need for blood flow. Some men can consume ‘swallow’ from morning till night without the addition of rich vegetables.

The following are foods that will make you last longer in bed.

  • Tiger nut juice (kunun aya)

Tiger nut juice is known as kunun aya, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. The ingredients used for preparing tiger nut juice make it a great way to improve sex drive, increase energy levels, and overall sexual experience. Dates (Dabino) are also a known natural aphrodisiac, and together with tiger nuts (aya), they relax your body and get your blood pumping, which is important for sexual arousal.

To prepare kunun aya:

  • get a half measure (mudu) of dried tiger nuts. Half of a mudu will do too, depending on how much juice you want.
  • Then buy dates depending on the quantity of tiger nuts. Finding a good balance is important because the juice doesn't require extra sugar. Dates serve as a natural sweetener. So clearly, you need a good measure of dates, but avoid buying both ingredients in the same quantity. Dates should be less in quantity.
  • Wash the dates and tiger nuts properly, especially the dates. This is because dates may have worms in them due to their sweet nature.
  • Crack and remove the nuts inside and then wash, before blending them properly. The quantity of juice you get depends on how well the dates and tiger nuts are blended.
  • After blending, sieve to get the pure juice and then refrigerate. Note that without refrigerating, the juice will not last for more than three hours on a hot day before it goes bad.
  • Watermelon

If in season, watermelon is readily available in Nigeria. Plus, it doesn't take much from your pocket. Watermelon is a low-calorie fruit that contains a good amount of phytonutrients that improve your sex drive. Watermelon is like your natural viagra because it works in the same way Viagra does. It relaxes your blood vessels and improves cardiovascular function. Also, it contains a healthy aphrodisiac in magnesium, which boosts your libido.

  • Avocados

Avocado is another great way to improve your sex drive. The fruit is available in Nigeria. The rich potassium contained in avocado helps to increase blood flow. In case you're not aware, blood flow is what helps ignite sexual desire which happens when blood flows into the sexual organ. No wonder avocado tree is sometimes called testicles tree. Additionally, the high amount of folic acid increases sperm count in men.

  • Bananas

Bananas are rich in vitamins like magnesium, potassium, and others. These vitamins together with an enzyme called Bromelain can help with infertility in men. Also, the vitamins in bananas help boost the production of hormones that increase energy levels and sexual urge.

  • Spicy meat

This one may come as a surprise to you, but it works wonders on your performance in the bedroom. Meats like beef, chicken, and pork all improve the flow of blood in your body. They contain amino acids that open up your vessels to allow free flow of blood. Then imagine spiced up meat with chilli peppers. That's a recipe for a wonderful time in the bedroom with your partner. This is clear in the way our body warms up each time we take spicy food. That's the pepper speeding up your blood circulation. However, this doesn't mean you should make meat daily food, because that will be risking heart disease.

Using natural food to last longer in bed will improve your sex life, but you also have to do your part. Stay away from things that could damage your sex life. Try to cut back on alcohol and smoking. Also, try to rest well whenever you can.
