These hilarious tweets gave us the perfect idea for tired parents. Children can no doubt try the patience of the pope! So if you're feeling a little overwhelmed it's okay. Put your feet up with a glass of wine, and take a few deep breaths. What you must not do, is take any of our advice, as they are strictly for laughs. We're pretty sure your parenting style is the good stuff.

Here are our suggestions for what you should do with your kids

parenting styles

  1. Send them off to Mexico…or somewhere far!

When they mess up their room, “decorate” the walls with their watercolour, or the oil from their food, they tend to just look at you and wonder why all the fuss. A trip to Mexico, if possible, might help calm your nerves and maybe show them how much value you hold in their lives.

  1. Eat the last portion of cereal.

Ok, you forgot to buy more cereals and your tummy gives you the memo of raiding the cupboard for a bowl of cereal at night, the last one. Just one problem, mini-you wakes up about that time and wants that same bowl of cereal. Oh well, you already know who will win!

  1. Sleep in on a School Day.

Now it's understood that the minute your child starts going to school, you both are going to school. With you waking up early to get them ready, make their breakfast and make sure they are all set, this is after having had a late nightery due to work deadlines, keeping the home clean etc. Every bone in your body screams to lie in bed till 10 am, but, hey, this is part of the joy (sacrifice) of parenthood, get up!

  1. Make them do their own laundry from Start!

Ok, can we be honest? How is it that baby poo seems to be the smelliest? How does changing diapers 6 times a day with that smell blessing your nostrils every time? Truth be told, if babies could do laundry, many parents will be over the moon. Fortunately, the way it works, we brought these little beings into this world and we are responsible for them, sweetness, sugar and spice and smelly diapers inclusive.

  1. Send them off to Work in your Place.

What’s better than a day off? A day off with your work still being done! Won’t it be fun if the little ones could go to the office in your stead and terrorize everyone for you? That will be making good use of their negotiating and people’s skills! And you still get to have rest!

In the end though, remember you are responsible for these little ones and are only guidance for their own journey through life. Parenting styles are guidelines anyway, not the law. So, let's get up and fulfil our obligations, have fun with them and enjoy their every company, cheers!
