The actress-activist also builds self-confidence by indulging in rituals that bring her joy. “It’s really important to feel happy to feel confident. And happiness lies in the smallest of things,” she shares. “Whenever I’m having a down day, I eat my favorite meal, wash off my makeup and apply an amazing moisturizer, have a shower, or meet up with people I love and who love me. These little things are such luxuries and make me feel good.”
Knowing her self care connection to beauty, it makes sense that she’d partner with a skincare brand like Obagi. As their brand ambassador and face of ” Skinclusion ,” she fronts a global campaign to champion diversity in beauty. “For 30 years, Obagi has tested for every single skin tone. That’s amazing to see,” she says. “That hundreds-of-years old narrative and standard of beauty created around women of color needs to change for the next generation; by every one of us empowering, complimenting, and seeing the beauty in different colors.”

Priyanka Chopra Shares 7 Skincare and Makeup Tips
She always applies sunblock.
“I like to use the Obagi Pro-C Suncare sunblock. People don’t realize that every skin type needs sunblock or sun protection. I love that it doesn’t give the whitish stains you get with sunblock. This one doesn’t get ashy at all because it has a matte finish. It works beautifully under makeup.”
She never sleeps with makeup.
“The most important thing is to take off your makeup before you go to bed at night. It should be almost like a routine, like how we brush our teeth!”
She wears bright lipstick to boost her mood.
“All the makeup that I own is literally donations from my makeup artists because I don’t use makeup everyday as much. Whenever I’m feeling run-down, I wear a bright mouth. I feel like it distracts from my exhaustion. That means whenever you’ve seen me in a brighter lip, I’m feeling really tired! I do love MAC’s Ruby Woo. I’ve worn it for years and I feel like that’s a red that works on every skin type and it’s a beautiful, deep matte red.”
She emphasizes her eyebrows.
“I thread my eyebrows. I think threading is better than waxing, for sure. It doesn’t pull at your skin as much. It’s very precise. I like to keep the front of my eyebrows a little natural. I like my eyebrows looking groomed. If they frame your face right, then you don’t need very much makeup. Eyebrow pencils are very important to me I’m using a Dior one at the moment.”
She embraces a DIY beauty recipe.
“I use a mask called ubtan. It’s not for sensitive skin, but I use this on my face as well: It’s basically yogurt, little lemon, a pinch of turmeric powder, and flour. You put it on your body and scrub it off like an exfoliant. Lighter skin should be careful because turmeric can stain your skin, but I’ve always found it very healing, especially after a day in the sun. I also love a coconut oil head massage. It’s very very Indian! And works so well. It keeps the circulation on your scalp going and it’s relaxing and then you just wash it off. Hot coconut oil is even more relaxing but I sometimes don’t have the luxury for that.”

She doesn’t skimp on skincare while traveling.
“I just have quick couple of steps that I do in the morning, and a couple of steps that I do at night, depending on how much I’m traveling, how my skin’s feeling. Air traveling dehydrates your skin a lot, and I’m on a plane almost every seven days. So it’s important to keep it hydrated. I try and experiment with different sheet masks while flying. The second thing I use is an amazing moisturizer right before I land. I keep my Obagi Hydrate Luxe with me everywhere. It’s in my bag, it’s in my toiletry case. Right before I land, I just put a bunch of it before I do my makeup. And I feel absolutely fresh.”
She prioritizes small wellness wins, like guzzling water.
“My life is crazy in terms of how much I travel. I try and work out whenever I get an opportunity. I train at the gym whenever I can, which is not as often as I would like. I make sure I eat right, getting salads, lots of veggies. I think that’s really important. I make sure I keep my water bottle with me all the time and I always have to refill it. As soon as I finish it, I like top it off again. I feel like what you put inside of your body reflects in what you see outside: How you eat, how much rest you can get, how much water you drink. Drink water all day! It’s the elixir of life.” And that’s the most important part before you follow any skincare and makeup tips.
